- ‘Dicky Dommershausen Night’ On Thursday February 2, 2012, during the Waupun High School varsity hockey game against Beaver Dam, we will be honoring Dicky Dommershausen. Dicky has been a huge supporter of Waupun Hockey at all levels. Dicky began a tradition years ago that many of us remember. Any youth hockey team that won a state championship, Dicky would purchase tickets and take the entire team(s) to a Wisconsin Badger Hockey game. Often times he was even able to get the kids into the player’s locker room. Dicky loved the game of hockey and cared greatly for the kids! Most recently Dicky shared with us that he will be donating a large sum of money to the association to be used towards our new scoreboards. In appreciation for all that he has done over the years, we will be presenting him with a plaque between the 2nd & 3rd period of the game this Thursday night and this is only the beginning. Each year going forward an award will be given in ‘Dicky’s’ name to a Waupun Hockey volunteer who exemplifies the dedication Dicky gave to Waupun Hockey. Please let any past players, coaches, and friends know about Dicky Dommershausen Night to honor Dicky. We would like to have the stands full! Kids wearing their jerseys will be admitted free.
